DPDP Compliance
VillageEducationIndia is committed to respecting the rights of individuals under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP), India’s landmark legislation governing the processing of personal data. This page explains how we comply with the DPDP and how you can exercise your rights as a data principal.
Scope and Applicability
The DPDP applies to the processing of digital personal data within India. While VillageEducationIndia does not collect personal data through user registration or accounts, we may inadvertently process limited personal data through automated means such as web analytics, server logs, and cookies used for site functionality and performance monitoring. This page outlines how we handle such data in compliance with the DPDP.
Your Rights Under DPDP
Under the DPDP, you have the following rights as a data principal:
- Right to access information about how your personal data is being processed
- Right to correction or completion of inaccurate or incomplete personal data
- Right to withdrawal of consent for any processing based on consent
- Right to grievance redressal if you believe your data rights have been violated
- Right to nominate another individual to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity
Please note: The DPDP does not grant rights to data deletion or portability in all cases, but these rights may apply where consent was the legal basis for processing.
How We Comply
VillageEducationIndia complies with the DPDP by:
- Minimizing data collection to only what is necessary for site functionality
- Using analytics tools that anonymize or pseudonymize data where possible
- Not collecting sensitive personal data such as biometrics, health, or religious information
- Ensuring third-party service providers (e.g., analytics platforms) comply with DPDP requirements
- Not selling or sharing personal data for commercial purposes
Data We Process
Under the DPDP, we may process the following types of digital personal data:
- IP addresses (anonymized in analytics)
- Browser type and device information
- Pages visited and time spent on site
- Cookie identifiers for session and preference management
All such data is processed solely for improving user experience, site performance, and content relevance.
Legal Basis for Processing
We process personal data under the following lawful bases under the DPDP:
- Consent — for cookies and analytics where required
- Legitimate interests — for site security, functionality, and performance optimization
We do not rely on contract or legal obligation as a basis, as we do not provide services requiring user accounts.
